Message Email Specialist
The Role
The Bloomberg Message system delivers over two hundred million messages a day ranging from financial information and trades to emails from friends. It is one of Bloomberg's heaviest used products and provides access to critical financial information for many of our users.
We are seeking a software engineer to work on and administer the email subsystem of Message. The email subsystem converts proprietary Bloomberg Messages to and from MIME and associated RFC formats.
Requirements
- Experience building and administering large scale distributed email systems
- Experience troubleshooting email issues such as non-delivery, bottlenecks
- Experience identifying and securing email systems from spam, phishing, viruses and other malware
- Experience in managing changes to highly sensitive systems
- Experience with Perl and C++
- Experience with Email Application Devices and Span Assassin is advantageous
