Messaging Subject Matter Expert
NCI: As a Messaging Subject Matter Expert you will use your skills to serve as the single point of contact with the Sponsor for the Data Center, managing the safety and the policies to keep the client Data safe and successfully out of danger.
Highlights of Responsibilities:
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level operations, maintenance and troubleshooting on four primary and four standby servers
- All four servers are running BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version 4.1.6 in a critical availability environment
- Assist Tier 1 with Blackberry Smartphone troubleshooting when needed.
- Track and update BES Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as necessary
- Perform user capacity/distribution management
- Provide support for server tuning including monitoring, troubleshooting and optimizing performance
- Work closely with exchange/database administrators and administrators
- Assist with periodic maintenance and upgrades (OS, drivers, firmware)
- Maintain functional knowledge of maintenance service levels and vendor Points of Contact (POCs)
- Participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for reviews, technology and tool selection
- Track and close assigned Remedy Incidents and/or Tasks
- Submit a weekly Service Delivery Rep
- Research and review new hardware, operating system and 3rd party technologies
- Provide feedback for process improvement.
- Will be recognized for strong expertise in industry issues and trends.
- Utilizes functional area expertise gained through direct industry experience to assess the operational and functional baseline of an organization and its organizational components.
- Works with senior managers and executives to provide industry vision and strategic
- direction with regard to their enterprise.
- Guides the determination of information technology inadequacies and/or deficiencies that affect the functional area's ability to support/meet organizational goals.
- Generates functional area strategies for enhanced IT operations in a cross-functional area mode throughout the organization.
- Participates in account strategy sessions, strategic assessments and design reviews to validate enterprise approach and associated work products.
- Provides guidance and direction to other professionals, acts in a consulting and/or advisory capacity; coordinates resolution of highly complex problems and tasks, possesses ability to meet and operate under deadlines.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred.
- Five (5) or more years of technical experience.
- In depth knowledge of Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007 system administration and service management to lead Messaging Team at EMOC.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Current leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills.
- Good ability to lead and work as part of a team.
- The SME shall possess the MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server certification.
- Must Have an active DoD Secret clearance.
