Metals Research Manager required – London – Circa £75K recruitment

The Research Manager will lead the research function for metals and will champion the metals products to market wokring closely with the head of sales and marketing to ensure the product is meets the evolving needs of the market.

The Research Manager for Metals will initially have direct responsibility for the metals team and the products. The areas covered include both base and prcious metals and the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Budgeting and managing revenues and costs to achieve contribution targets

• The timely publication of cost services, as well as providing consultancy (ad hoc projects) for single client assignments

• Coordinating/managing work within the team

• Meeting and liaising with clients. 

• The continuous development of the product suite

Key skills required:

• Degree level educated as a minimum ideally in a numerate discipline

• Strong analytical background with experience in commercially focussed market facing roles.

• Detailed knowledge of comparable commodity or financial markets

• Experiencing analysing market/client activity and championing change and driving development

• Excellent communication skills (confident in talking with industry participants at all levels, and in presenting at client meetings)

• Proven market research skills

• Attention to detail

• Good IT skills to include exposure to databases

• Languages would be advantageous.
