Position Description

Directs, leads and/or analyzes the current and future business environment and develops forecast, acquisition, and utilization plans to optimize resources in support of company initiatives and program business plans. Requires minimal management direction. Oversees, develops and/or maintains complex Business System factory definition to be used for manufacturing planning. Directs, leads and/or develops labor hour estimates for new or revised production and tooling work packages by utilizing labor standards, tool and production design drawing reviews, and Tool and Production Operations concurrence to support program business. Oversees and participates in the development of integrated tool and production master schedules by leading the development of tool and position plan/documents, tool downtimes, rate flow plans, #1 flows, and tool sequencing plans to maximize the efficiency of equipment, material. Leads the identification and implementation of improvements to processes by analyzing current processes and utilizing established improvement methodologies to maximize the efficiency of equipment and personnel and to support company improvement initiative. Leads and/or directs the analysis of required changes to approved plans resulting from unplanned events. Assesses the impact of the changes that occur to cost, schedule, resources, and delivery. Develops modifications to existing plans and obtains approval for plan changes and/or presents to management recommended modifications. Coordinates and participates in negotiations representing Production and Tooling Operations to support schedule commitments or statement of work impacts. Directs, leads, develops, implements and trains less experienced analysts in the development, implementation, maintenance, and status of integrated shop operating plans to maximize the efficiency of equipment and personnel and to reduce inventory and meet cost and schedule commitments. Directs, leads, develops and supports the development and support of shop performance metrics by analyzing data in order to recommend plan of action for Production and Tooling Management.

Typical Education/Experience

Level 3 - Bachelor's and typically 6 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Level 4 - Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred candidate will have a Bachelors or Masters degree in any of the following: Aeronautical, Business Management, Business Administration, Industrial Technology, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Economics, Finance, Construction Management or Supply Chain Management. Level 4 preferred candidate will have Technical Competencies in 8 or more of the following while the Level 3 preferred candidate will have Technical Competencies in 6 or more of the following: Process Management/Measurement skills, Performance Metrics, Root Cause Analysis, Project Management, Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Operations (Support), Business Case Analysis, Forecast, Resource Scheduling, Supply Chain and Assembly Experience (Boeing Only) Preferred candidate must be able to interact with employees to gather data for process improvements. This may include observing and documenting processes, and collecting data in manufacturing areas or in aircraft during various production phases. This requires the ability to walk, stand, and enter into aircraft via steps or ladders as needed. Also, candidate may be in proximity to chemicals when observing/gathering data in an area in the factory where chemicals are in use. This position is within Advanced Developmental Composites Industrial Engineering (ADC IE) both at Tukwila 9.101 and Auburn 17.45 buildings. The ability to work from either location on a daily basis is required. The ADC is leading Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) in the development of composite technologies, support to new airplane/derivative development and emergent production assistance. Unique requirements of this position require include Team Leadership of Methods Process Analysts at both Tukwila and Auburn locations. Mentor the Team relative to the BCA IE skills, ADC shop scheduling, business systems and process improvement. Experience with composites is a plus. Boeing Commercial Programs and Fabrication IE leadership experience is a plus.
