The Contract Accounting team is seeking an experienced manager for its West Coast Billing team. The position is located in El Segundo, California, and occasional travel is required.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record for leading teams, working multiple projects within deadlines, and communicating effectively to various levels of management.

The billing manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day billing function for the West Coast operations, which generates approximately $2.5B in invoices annually. This organization is structured using the SAP One Source auto billing functionality.

This manager will be the responsible POC for several Business Units at their monthly meeting reviewing the aged AR balances, and must be able to explain the drivers of the unbilled balances. Understanding what creates unbilled, and how to analyze unbilled is an integral function of this role.

This billing manager plays a critical role in the successful cash strategy for the IS Sector. The ability to recognize potential problems and quickly step in to resolve them is an essential skill to the positive cash outcome for IS. Besides spotting potential issues, the successful candidate will also have the ability to think creatively for new solutions to optimizing cash.

This position will interact with DCAA and other audit teams, so knowledge of FAR, Sarbanes Oxley and Northrop Grumman policies and procedures is desired.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree, plus 8 years or equivalent experience (An additional 4 years of related experience needed in lieu of degree)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Skills in partnering with multiple functional organizations as well as internal customers.
  • Troubleshooting skills to spot problems with cash processes and quickly initiate corrective action
  • Background in Billing preferred, but will also consider strong candidates with program control, contracts and business management experience.
  • Team-oriented approach with ability to work well with all levels of management and across sectors and divisions.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of OneSource systems, specifically PS. SD and BW.
  • Previous managerial experience.
  • Knowledge of FAR, Sarbanes Oxley and Northrop Grumman policies and procedures.
  • Experience interfacing with DCMA and DCAA.
  • Legacy SODAS, CARS and CBAR knowledge.
