We are currently looking for a Manager, Engineer – QA in Burlington, MA.
Responsibilities:
Direct the activities of a software Quality Assurance function for software application enhancements and new products. This position oversees the functional testing, performance testing, and automated testing of software enhancements and/or new products for internal or customer applications. Establish operational objectives, work plans and delegates assignments to subordinates. Provide leadership for multiple projects and teams. Responsible for budgeting, administrative management, project estimation, and scheduling of function projects. Provide performance management and career development for subordinates.
- Management responsibilities for Quality Assurance staff including resource and performance management, ensuring proper staff training and development
- Establish and maintain consistent Quality Assurance process and standards across multiple Scrum teams throughout the release lifecycle
- Approve scope changes for projects
- Work closely with Product Management to analyze and enhance product roadmap with a particular focus on product quality
- Participate directly in selected key projects
- Establish and manage department budget
- Procure software, hardware, and devices necessary to efficiently test all components within the system based on team needs / recommendations
- Oversee Project estimation and scheduling
- Working directly with group Director and QA leadership to Analyze current and future roadmap to ensure proper QA staffing and allocation
- Participate in the interview and hiring process for full time and contracted resources
- Responsible for providing regular performance reviews
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Management Information Systems or comparable technical degree/experience. MBA/MSc a plus
- 5+ years of Managerial experience AND 5+ years of Quality Assurance / Engineering experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience with managing or implementing automated and performance testing
- Solid technical/test understanding and ability to actively engage in technical discussions with customers and project team
- Experience in Agile Development (preferably scrum) is preferred
- Proficient in managing or implementing testing of applications created in various coding languages
- Experience with large scale transactional data systems is a plus (OLTP)
- Experience with Mobile Application testing / management is a plus
- Complete three of the following: InveNT submissions, TEQ Talks, Training sessions, Town Hall presentations, or Technology Conference presentations
