GENERAL SUMMARY Develops business development processes, programs and internal reports. Promotes business development programs and seeks approval from higher-level managers. Organizes and delegates implementation of program, process and report improvements or additions. Interfaces with higher-level managers in various functions within the company to ensure that the business development function anticipates and meets internal and external needs and is structured to produce effective plans and strategies. Utilizing a broad understanding of information technology and an in-depth understanding of EMC technology, Service Providers industry, the GAM manager works with their team members to identify and articulate the advantages of integrating third party applications with EMC technology to produce enhances solutions. Directing the activities of groups in multiple disciplines. Requires complete functional knowledge and awareness of company goals and objectives. Develops operational policies within the area managed. Requires the ability to influence others to achieve results. May manage through subordinate supervisors and/or managers. Ease with Senior Management - can effectively interface at many levels with top executives. Negotiator - can reach appropriate resolution in many varied situations without damaging internal or external relationships. Develops Staff - develops and provides challenging yet appropriate assignments and communicates progress toward development goals. Requires collaborating with EMC sales, channels, marketing, legal, product management and engineering staff. Collaboration with the partner's business development, legal, and engineering staff will be necessary to finalize EMC development agreements as appropriate. Position requires a minimum of five years experience in Aerospace and Defense industry experience highly preferred. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Manages the activities of individual contributors in a department with accountability for results in terms of costs, strategies, revenue and employees.
