Mgr I Payroll

The Raytheon Payroll Center in Greenville, Texas is looking for a full-time Payroll Manager to lead and manage the HR/Benefits Team within a shared services payroll organization responsible for the administration of HR/benefit changes within PeopleSoft.

This Manager will be responsible for managing the administration of Human Resources employee level transactions and various employee benefit plans such as defined contribution savings plans, defined benefit pension plans, health and welfare plans, Leaves of Absence and Leave Accrual plans.  This team's primary focus is to oversee the maintenance and updating of the HR and employee benefit data within the employee records in PeopleSoft.

Additional Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage the HR/Benefits Team by providing guidance, training, developing and coaching team members on a consistent basis
  • Exhibit HR competencies including, action orientation, influencing others, communication skills, collaboration, technical knowledge of HR and benefit functions, and team work
  • Support business growth by supporting HR/Benefits efforts for due diligence or post acquisition integration
  • Regularly contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards within the Human Resources and Benefits area
  • Evaluate and revise internal processes and controls to reduce costs and increase efficiency
  • Act as a liaison with Corporate and Field Human Resources Mangers, Benefits, Legal, Accounting, IT Support, Auditors and third party vendors on HR/benefit payroll related issues
  • Enforce company established HR/Benefit related policies, procedures and regulations
  • Troubleshoot issues and providing support for resolution

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum 6 years experience in the Payroll, Human Resources or Benefits administration area
  • Minimum 4 years experience working with a major HRIS system (PS, Oracle, SAP)
  • Proven analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills for complex problems
  • Strong time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to show a high degree of initiative; ability to drive change to promote functional productivity and efficiency
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs and continuously meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of common benefit laws and regulations and basic HR regulatory considerations. Must possess a positive, service-oriented attitude and be easily approachable. Requires ability to work independently, prioritize, stay organized and multi-task under strict deadlines. High level of energy and enthusiastic approach to job performance
  • Leadership skills that inspire and motivate others to excel and allow acceptable constructive feedback
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Intermediate skills using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Microsoft Project

Desired Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Payroll administration experience
  • PeopleSoft 8.9 and/or 9.0 experiences
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Upgrades

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
