Responsibilities:
This position requires an individual with strong engineering and technical abilities who is able to effectively communicate
with Customers, suppliers, employees, peers, and management. This person must possess good leadership skills and be
capable of team building across various functions while motivating and managing a team of Product Engineers through
quoting, winning, and launching cable assembly products. This person must have a disciplined approach and demonstrated
ability to solve problems in a methodical and logical manner.
Requirement:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage change
- Lead and mentor a group of Product Engineers in various locations in support of Cable Assembly products
- Work closely with Sales, Product Management, and Customers to define and document product requirements
- Work closely with Procurement and suppliers to define and document purchased product needs
- Work closely with Materials, Manufacturing, and Production to define and document manufacturing process requirements
- Based on knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, provide direction for quoting most cost-effective solutions
- Manage department resources to deliver PPAP'ed product to Customers on-time and to budget
- Develop and maintain annual engineering budget
- Team with Quality Engineering in support of engineering-related quality issues and manufacturing issues
- Provide support to Sales and Product Management on Customer calls by making presentations and being involved
in new product application discussions.
- Identify and execute coordinated cost-reduction activities through product redesign, material substitutions, manufacturing
process changes, manufacturing location changes, etc.
Profile:
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience in automotive product design and release process as well as robust engineering practices
- Experience in and knowledge of terminals, connectors, and cable assembly products and manufacturing processes a plus
- Strong problem solving skills
- Good project management skills with ability to multi-task
- Proficient in all Microsoft suite applications
- Excellent written and oral communications
- Previous experience in supervising and managing a team of Engineers
- Fluency in English required, Spanish fluency a plus
