Maintains the accuracy of the perpetual inventory system. Reviews existing procedures affecting perpetual inventory for accuracy; recommends and implements improved procedures when necessary.
Responsible for managing, controlling, and directing the material planning, inventory control, storage, shipping, and receiving functions. Coordinates with purchasing, production, and engineering departments to ensure adequate supply and efficient movement of materials. Provides for the development and maintenance of inventory control systems to track status of purchase orders, inventory levels, and production requirements. Forecasts plans for anticipated materials requirements. Reviews production schedules to ensure the availability of materials.
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in business or management with 5+ years of materials management experience. Experience with 'Lean' material management preferred. Must be detail oriented and have strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong verbal skills to effectively communicate with other departments required. Ability to develop and maintain strong, team oriented relationships with co-workers. Expert in data analysis tools including Excel, Access.

- Achieves materials management operational objectives by contributing materials management information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, and quality standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining materials management system improvements and implementing change.
- Meets materials management financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
- Meets sales forecasts and current orders by developing production planning and scheduling systems; optimizing labor, equipment, and inventory resources; examining and resolving schedule deviations and problems.
- Leads the buying of materials, supplies, equipment, and services by developing procedures; reviewing, evaluating, consolidating, upgrading, and approving requests; examining and resolving shortages and quality issues; evaluating and approving vendors; evaluating and approving materials, supplies, equipment, and services.
- Manages inventory by determining and maintaining optimum inventory and cost levels.
- Stores product by developing warehousing policies and procedures and implementing inventory movement systems.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
- Provides management control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Accomplishes materials management and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
