Position Summary
This position manages the development of F5’s core access technologies team in San Jose. Responsibilities for the position are to develop and manage people, provide technical leadership, lead project planning, facilitate communication, and offer product vision.
Responsibilities
- Manage team and development project deliverables.
- Effectively lead team through design and development by providing technical and logistical direction and support to development team.
- Efficiently communicate/collaborate with Seattle San Jose teams.
- Evaluate performance of direct-reports and assist them in creating career development plans.
- Participate in defining new software architectures, products and solutions.
- Monitor and coordinate activities of key vendors/partners through regular meetings.
- Keep abreast of new technologies, potential business partners.
- Identify creations which can be patented and assist in patent applications.
- Maintain and promote high morale.
Qualifications
- BSCS or BSEE with minimum 7 years experience in VPN, SSL VPN, and/or remote access technology development.
- Proven track record in both software development and in managing a development group.
- Ability to build a team, foster team growth, and manage team project deliverables.
- Enough technical knowledge and instincts to effectively lead team through design and development. This includes knowledge of TCP/IP and other network protocols, including layer 7 (HTTP).
- Ability effectively communicate/collaborate with Seattle and SJ development teams.
- Strong organizational skills. Ability to work well with a wide variety of personalities.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Daily computer use in an office environment.
