Position Description:

Directs plan, and manages the operations and resources of the Sterile Processing Department to effectively support surgical and procedural services throughout the organization. Develops highly effecitve processes and systems that are compliant with regulatory requirements and yield high satisfaction score from the departments served. Serves as leader, role model, change agent for the department. Builds highly effective teams. Recruits and retains qualified human resources to support effective and high performing processes and systems.

Qualifications:

Preferred a 3-4 years of experience related to sterile processing techniques, procedures and standards as set by accreditation and regulatory agencies and 1-2 years of management experience.

Must have knowledge of aseptic technique, medical supplies / equipment, surgical instruments, sterile processing procedures and computer operation.

Excellent communication skills are a must.

• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and clinical expertise are required.
• Expertise in team development.
• Must possess demonstrated management and leadership s abilities.
• Extensive knowledge of current trends in clinical practice, operations, and community partnerships in designated area of responsibility with evidence of achievement in leadership activities.
• Demonstated compentency in budgeting, supply management and achieving performances to fiscal targets.
• Critical thinking, problem solving, strategic planning, project management, public speaking, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
• Active membership in one or more professional organizations.
• Flexibility in scheduling hours to meet the 24 hour needs of the Patient Care Services Division.
• Requires the physical ability to walk throughout the All Saints campus and participate in departmental work processes as necessary.
• 24 hour responsibility for areas under the respective division.
• Participation in community and professional activities outside of work hours.
