MI Analyst (Fixed Term Contract) recruitment

Opportunity

To develop and provide regular reports, data and analysis about sales, redemptions and funds under management for MG Retail's UK and European channels and evolving relationships with Global Banks and strategic partners to all parts of MG, specifically Sales, Finance and MAGIM, and as appropriate to external bodies.

Key responsibilities

- Create and roll out a suite of reports designed to assist with MG's growing relationships with Global Banks. This will cover fund flows and AUM MI for each Global Bank's holdings.
- Liaise with contacts at Global Banks as appropriate to reconcile data.
- Expand the above to include other key client accounts as required by Sales.
- Respond to and provide solutions for ad-hoc MI requests from throughout MG (using systems operated by the team and external sources - i.e. FAST and FAST Answers Direct).
- Assist line manager with regular tasks - in particular, assumption setting for department models.
- Liaise with other members of the Finance team in meeting their data requirements.
- Establish good relationships with key customers throughout MG.

What we are looking for
The candidate must:

- Have a strong grounding in applications such as Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
- Be numerate and be able to summarise data concisely and in a timely manner.
- Have an understanding and experience of Structured Query Language (SQL) and/or other programming languages.
- Have strong analysis and investigative skills.
- Have the ability to work reliably without close supervision.
Be able to communicate clearly with internal staff and external contacts.

It would be advantageous for candidates to:

- Have experience in statistical or data analysis.
- Have knowledge of the IFDS FAST databases.
- Have knowledge of how the fund management industry operates and an appreciation of the issues facing it.

It may be advantageous for candidates to :

- Have knowledge and/or experience of the structure of Global Banks.
- Speak a European language.
