Syndicate MI Manager
I am currently recruiting for a Syndicate MI Manager role within a Syndicate based in London. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will be responsible for a team of 3 Syndicate Management Accountants.
Accountability
•
To lead, motivate and energise direct reports.
•
To ensure effective team work with all Finance functions.
•
To ensure the MI Team deliver information that is right first time (reliable, timely, challenged, controlled and thoroughly reviewed).
•
Maintain regular communication with stakeholders and proactively meet their requirements
•
To support the development of Kiln systems and processes in line with reporting requirements and changes.
Key Area Results
The role includes responsibility for:
•
Oversight and management of the Syndicate Management Accountants.
•
Ensure quarterly Three Year Syndicate forecasts are complete, understood and communicated.
•
Ensure quarterly One Year Syndicate forecasts are complete, understood and communicated.
•
Production of International Reporting packs that provide timely, accurate and relevant information.
•
Production of Syndicate Report and Accounts.
•
Produce syndicate cash flow forecasts that are robust, explained and based on best information.
•
Provide finance inputs and support the production of the Syndicate Business Forecasts
•
Develop MI, analytical review and commentary supporting the Year of Account and One Year Accounting position /performance.
•
Liaise with the Syndicate Reporting Team, as appropriate (including relevant peer review), to ensure that there is a seamless "straight through process".
•
Recommend system enhancements.
•
Continually seek improvements in processes, procedures and controls.
•
Ensure appropriate controls are implemented and maintained that ensure the accurate flow and reporting of information.
•
Lead and motivate the team, engendering a feeling of mutual trust and respect while ensuring constructive communication within the team and other stakeholders.
•
Develop members of the team, ensuring that skills and knowledge are shared and appropriate training and development is provided.
Technical Capabilities
•
Qualified Accountant. Management experience a plus.
•
Understanding of Lloyd's and London Market insurance.
•
Able to manage and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and expectations.
•
Experience in managing, developing and energising teams.
