Microbiologist - Pharmaceuticals and Toiletries

Our client is a total solutions contract manufacturer to the pharmaceutical and toiletries industry. They have an immediate requirement for an experienced Microbiologist to join their site based in the Hertfordshire area.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and improve the group quality management system to meet Regulatory, Company and Customer expectations with specific responsibility for Microbiology.
Management of the Microbiology facility and testing programme to EU GMP standards
Monitoring of manufacturing, filling, packaging and warehouses
Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
Testing of raw materials and finished products (Creams and Liquids) to PhEur standards (TYMC, TAMC and preservative effectiveness).
To ensure all necessary testing has been carried out to satisfy all requirements
To monitor Hygiene standards in production areas and provide education to encourage the improvement of standards
Advise the Senior Management of any Microbiology or Hygiene risk
Monitor cleanliness and sanitisation of the facility and production equipment
Monitor the quality of the factory environment and site purified water system
Assist in the Development and validation projects
The successful candidate will be of graduate calibre in Microbiology with a proven track record of extensive testing and analysis in a Pharmaceutical Microbiology Laboratory. You will also demonstrate experience of management and supervision of a team of staff. Experience of testing in a non-sterile environment and environmental monitoring and water testing desired.
