MICROBIOLOGIST SUMMARY OF POSITION : To guide the efforts of Microbiology lab personnel to assure test results, procedures, and methods are written, maintained, executed in conformance with current philosophies. To assist with maintenance and analysis of Microbiology data and work with other plant personnel to resolve problems related to actual or potential product quality problems. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Guides Microbiology lab personnel to provide timely microbiological testing service, assisting as a working team member as necessary (requires knowledge of all microbiology Analysts jobs) Implements on-going studies to document the scientific suitability of test methodologies fundamental to conformance and assessment Heads-on, when needed to perform microbiology testing such as EM program, water testing and other. Serves as a leader for all the other Microbiology personnel in learning new tasks or new ways to perform old tasks Analyzes trends microbiology data on a monthly basis to identify potential concerns with product quality and correct deviant situations Leads studies to support sterilization validation and validation of endotoxin removal. Ability to write effective investigations for out of trend results and exceeded action leads. Ability to represent the microbiology department on relevant teams (Kaizen, Lean Sigma) to assist in improving the processes throughout the facility. Ability to write/revise microbiology and other relevant SOP's/protocols as required. DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately. Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS : Education required/ preferred: Bachelor's Degree preferably in Microbiology, Biology or similar life science Experience: Minimum six years in Microbiology, in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Knowledge of sterilization validation, preferably with steam. Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Good interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills; able to use computer for data analysis Previous leadership experience Skills/Competencies: Knowledge of laboratory safety, material safety; working knowledge of cGMPs, GLPs, and FDA requirements Other Skills: Ability to train analysts; kinetic LAL ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE : Reports to Microbiology Manager; must be able to cover for the position during absences Must work as a team member with other Microbiologist and analysts Ability to communicate with personnel from other areas of the plant in order to achieve a common goal or producing quality product If you are interested in this opportunity or other opportunities available through Adecco Engineering and Technical, please apply online or email directly to Erik.
