For our IT department based in Fribourg we are looking for a:

Microsoft Server Administrator

(fixed term contract: 1 year)

Your Responsibilities:


Provide support, technical expertise and coordination, as member of the Engineering and Application Support Team, in a highly virtualized Microsoft Windows environment. Products supported include but are not limited to: MS Windows 2003/2008 servers on VBlocks, VMWare, Active Directory, Citrix, Linux Red Hat on a VM and Business applications.

Provide On-call based support during off hours and act as a problem dispatcher during a week once every 6 or 7 weeks. Experience on PowerShell, Login scripts, VMWare and DB administration are welcome.

Focus on deployment and post implementation user and BA support and primary local, technical assistance. Work to develop enhancement support process for different business applications in coordination with GIT resources. The incumbent is expected to perform and conduct business in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, company policies and procedures, with high ethical standards, and he/she is responsible to maintain a good knowledge level of internal policies and procedures, and to complete training records of all training activities in accordance with local procedures.

 

 

Your essential functions will be the following:

 

  1. Provide 2nd level problem resolution for business application implementations. Enable good coordination between the different involved groups within Alcon.
  2. Engineering and support for: Windows/Linux servers, Citrix, Active Directory, VMs and business applications
  3. Complex technical investigation, analysis and troubleshooting for server / application / data issues regarding products defined under 2.
  4. Activities will include analysis, development, implementation, issue resolution, support, and maintenance of operating systems and applications.
  5. Work under heavy task loads with a good understanding of client business organization, practices and requirements.
  6. Provide post implementation support, routine and on-going maintenance. Responsible to review OLA and SLA regarding products defined under 2.
  7. Liaise very close with associates in other support centers. Coordination of application installation and upgrade processes.
