We are currently seeking a Microsoft Solutions Architect to join our group corporate centre based in central London. The successful candidate will be the single point of authority for all Microsoft technologies globally at RSA. You will take the lead design and delivery role managing all 3rd party and internal resource for any Microsoft based architecture solutions including a major migration from Lotus Notes to Microsoft technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acts as single point authority for Microsoft Technologies globally at RSA.
- Be responsible for the backbone design of the Exchange messaging infrastructure and future messaging environment.
- Work closely with the CTO and Programme Director to support the global transition from Notes to Microsoft.
- Be involved full life cycle on key projects (often multiple projects concurrently) - from inception, initiation and planning through design to implementation and handover to production.
- Organises and ensures continuing engagement with key stakeholders and staff, to build and maintain the commitment needed to ensure success.
- Develops and maintains RSA's overall Technical Requirements based on current systems, agreed IT Strategies Initiatives, RSA's Group IS Environment Standards, and 'givens' such as Architecture Principles and Standards.
- Provides strategic guidance to product selection, comparison and configuration.
- Understands how the business requirements can be met using application software, and defines what application software packages and / or bespoke code is needed.
- Understands core business applications, their capabilities and limitations.
- Provides advice and guidance on application development and configuration.
- Conducts in-depth implementation and application reviews.
Required knowledge, skills and experience:
- In depth knowledge of Application Architecture in particular in Financial Services or Insurance.
- Experience of working effectively across multi-cultural and geographic boundaries.
- Whilst a good broad understanding of application architecture, design and integration is essential, we would also expect the solutions architect to be able to demonstrate expert knowledge and understanding the following:
- Exchange 2010
- SharePoint 2010
- Active Directory/FIM
- SQL Server
- Internet/web Applications
- ASP.NET
- Experience of dealing with external vendors.
- Ability to influence people who you do not have direct line management responsibility for (including peers and senior executives).
- Ability to apply a range of approaches, techniques tools to maximise implementation.
- Collaborate effectively across internal and external boundaries and cultures to achieve common goals.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Financial Services experience (desirable) .
- Any previous experience of migrating from Notes to Microsoft (desirable).
