Immediate long term need in Bristol, CT for a BI Reporting Consultant
This individual will serve as a reporting expert on Business Intelligence projects. This position will be responsible for analyzing data needs and requirements of end users to design and create complex reports and dashboards. Additionally, this role will assist in the design and construction of relational databases to meet the business reporting needs.

Responsibilities: Design, develop and deploy complex MicroStrategy Reporting solutions Assist the Business Intelligence Architect with data warehouse design and project design for optimal report performance and increased report functionality. Function as hands-on report expert and guides others in defining and implementing technical specifications for BI solutions. Candidate must have an understanding of Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing principles and architectures including the concepts (Understanding of Kimball methodologies), designs and usage of data warehouses and data marts. Relevant experience with data centric projects such as data warehouses, relational and dimensional models, analytics and reporting Mentor/coach others in a team environment.
At least 3 years of MicroStrategy: version 8 or above (client uses 9.2)
At least 5 years of BI (Business Intelligence) experience
Experience using Microstrategy Architect to design a project including creating facts, attributes, relationships and hierarchies
Microstrategy report development including creating metrics, filters, prompts, consolidations, and custom groups
Some experience with MicroStrategy SDK (software development kit) to customize the look and feel of the user interface.
Microstrategy Report Services Document creation (dashboards)
Microstrategy Intelligence Server and Web administration helpful
Performance tuning Microstrategy reports including configuring VLDB settings
Solid understanding of Data Warehousing concepts (Star/Snowflake Schema, OLAP)
Solid understanding of Agile development methodology
Experience with Oracle 10g or higher
