Title : Middle Office Manager – Market Solutions
Purpose of Role:
To supervise and ensure an efficient support to MKS department including Prime Market Access and Treasury.
To provide Management Financial Control with accurate and timely information regarding MKS profitability.
To act as an interface to facilitate operational processes between Front Offices and Back Office, to improve the integrity of all the transactions and data flows.
To ensure the Middle Offices provide added value links between Front Offices and Back Offices beyond the Immune concepts
To facilitate communication between Back Office and Front Office and ensure information is produced and circulated as necessary
To ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Group policy in Middle Office activities
To maintain the Group Middle Office common guidelines, methodology and procedures manual
Key Responsibilities:
Control
- Raise awareness of Group Head MKS to any potential financial or technical operational risk issues, and to any other potential failure of critical success factors impacting the MKS Middle Office activities
- Alert the Group COO, Group Head of Operations, Group Head Middle Office and Group Head of Risk and Compliance of any unusual events detected during MKS Middle Office activities
- Review and endorse the implementation of the MKS Middle Office operational procedures and controls.
- Ensure that the MKS Middle Office operational procedures and processes are updated.
- Participate in ad hoc management projects and system enhancement.
- Ensure, in liaison with BO, that operational processes are rectified if required.
- Have a key role in permanent supervision of operations functions in MKS activities.
- Project management and new product testing
Risk
- Receive copy of all MKS clients (or any MKS third party) complaints from compliance as well as decisions made on how to process them
- Ensure that any changes required to processes or procedures as a result of these decisions are implemented
Management information production (MIS)
- Produce control related MIS (but NOT the manipulation/interpretation of MIS that is not for
- Define Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) with Operational Risk Management and MKS Risk Manager to follow up the risk level of MKS operations.
MKS Supervision
- Assume responsibility for the management of the MKS MO Administrator(s), ensure completion of standard regular tasks for the MKS MO team and provide cover as necessary for these tasks.
- Actively lead the enhancement and automation of MO workflow whilst maintaining resilient capabilities in operational risk at all times
- Conduct annual appraisals and objective setting
Data Management - Data Set up maintenance
- Carry out and monitor all necessary data changes within the Kondor+
Revaluation reporting
- Maintain save rates and interest rate curves.
- Launch Revaluation process when required by MKS.
- Produce IAS report (NPV based PL) for MM instruments
- Complete the accrued PL calculation for MM instruments
Kondor+ / Olympic reconciliation
- Deals reconciliation:
- Intraday: errors coming from the interface.
- EOD daily reconciliation of deals
- Positions reconciliation:
- Cash position adjustment (Back Value deals, reversals)
- EOD technical folders position check
- EOD/EOM position reconciliation
- PL reconciliation:
- Daily FX PL reconciliation (Deal and position level)
- Accrued MM PL reconciliation
- EOM PL reconciliation
Limit Management - KGR
- Maintain Interbank Counterparty limits, and data set-up in KGR in accordance with requests from Operational Risk Management
- Lock counterparty
Kondor+ Administration
- Setup users
- Set up Access Rights (Hierarchy, Licenses, Data, Modules, etc.)
Treasury
- Perform daily MO functions in accordance with MO procedures
- Compile daily PL for Regional SGHBL Treasury
Dashboard Reports
- Produce monthly dashboard identifying main areas of problems picked up by MO

Qualifications Required:
Necessary
- Previous experience of significant control functions, especially within a Treasury department Middle Office or trading floor. Possibly a supervisory position.
- Full knowledge of Treasury products
- Knowledge of Kondor plus Kapture plus
- High level of maths and analytical skills
- IT skills. (To include, Excel, Access macros)
Desirable

- Operations and/or Treasury experience.
- Good knowledge of the SG Group and its best practices.
- Graduate – accountancy background
