Job Summary
This senior position will manage a combination of Middle Office responsibilities to support the traders in their trading activities and to maintain controls. This includes client account management, clearance and settlements and trade support.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the all aspects and reporting requirements of the Middle Office Operations including a small team
- Assist the day-to-day trade processing, clearance and settlement of transactions between the Prime Brokers and other counterparties
- Responsible for the smooth, efficient and risk free passage of these transactions through both internal and external systems
- Resolve clients’ queries and discrepancies regarding any post trading issues effectively
- Keep operational records for control and management reviews current
- Work closely with Front Office to ensure their business requirements are met
- Participate in designing the operating process workflow of new products, supporting improvements and re-engineering operational processes
Qualifications
- 7+ years experience in all aspects of middle and back office operations encompassing trade support, clearing settlement, post-trade reconciliation and reporting (preferably within an investment banking/sell side environment)
- University degree in a finance or related discipline
- Experience in staff management, managing and leading a team to achieve department goals
- Excellent understanding of the trade life cycle across all Asian markets especially Hong Kong
- Having operations knowledge on Derivatives products will be an advantage
- Be able to work independently, be persistent in solving problems and creative.
- Strong analytical ability with excellent communication skills (fluent Cantonese and English) is a must
