Middle Office Oversight & Control Manager recruitment
Responsibilities
- Establishing and managing an independant Group Market Risk Middle Office (GMRMO)
- Liquidity reporting and monitoring and real-time margin maintenance for all proprietary Bank positions, credit and transaction limits/exposure related to Treasury and Asset Management acitivities on a Group basis
- Reviewing and approving valuation/pricing of Treasury and Asset Management investments and positions
- Reviewing and monitoring of positions and investments against governing committee directives periodically
- Managing medium sized projects in support of the function's process and technology universe
- Monitoring and recommending process change based on regulatory developments, requirements or best practice approach ensuring compliance with US GAAP and Basel II and III as relevant
- Providing advice and guidance on process improvement, accounting and operational policies ensuring all regulatory and Bank standards are met
- Monitoring and analysing impacts of regulatory change on the Bank's Market Risk governance framework
- Leading the development and implementation of Market Risk, Treasury and Asset Management policies and limit frameworks and escalating and managing policy and limit breaches to resolution
- Reviewing client mandates against investment activities and Butterfield Fund investments against investment policies and/or mandates periodically
- Management of dealing and accounting application configuration in line with policy requirements and monitoring process requirements
- Providing monthly committee reporting acitivies
Experience Sought
- University degree in Accounting, Business or Commerce with a professional accounting designation (CA,CPA) and eight years relevant post-qualification experience in a Treasury, Capital Markets, Asset Management or Risk Management
- Demonstrable expert understanding of market risk, credit risk and valuation concepts, processes and practices
- Highly developed mathematical skills and demonstrated ability working with complex data and pricing models
- Expert theoretical and in-depth working knowledge of financial instruments and their derivatives
- Demonstrable experience spearheading process design, technology projects or other complex and wide-ranging organisational change
- Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organisation, analytical, problem-solving and presentation skills
- Exemplary ethical standards, committed to managing information and data wtih the utmost discretion
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications
