An interesting role within a tier one global bank has arisen due to an internal move within the team
Middle office P+L Equity Derivatives Analyst AVP grade
This is a middle office position within a controls team
The skills you will develop within this role are;
- Risk and Controls
- P+L Flash reporting and Investigation
- Front office liaison
- Project Management
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and validate T0 P+L for review and signoff.
- Proactive follow up with various parties such as FO, Trade Support and IT to resolve issues on T0.
- Reconcile and explain any material PL movement from T0 to T1.
- Work closely with Finance on resolving PL breaks on T1.
- Work closely with the front office in order to perform various analyses and initiative requests from the front office - Participate in process improvement initiatives with various stakeholders.
- Perform EOD controls such as off-market checking, new trade PL review etc.
- Assist to build out new functions in Middle Office such as Data Integrity.
- Provide support for risk reporting such as risk validating, exception review and act as the centre point of resolving issues.
You will have:
- Three to six years relevant experience in Product Control, Project Management or and middle office controls division.
- Proactive, able to work under pressure and in a dynamic environment.
- Very good understanding of derivative products, not necessarily equities although that’s advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to propose new ideas effectively and to drive changes with stakeholders.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills, able to identify root cause of issues and to propose solutions independently.
- Well versed with Microsoft Excel, Access and Visual Basic.
