Sacred Heart Schools, Atherton (SHS) is seeking excellent teacher candidates for a middle school social studies teacher position.

Organization Overview

Founded in 1898, SHS is a Roman Catholic, coeducational, independent school and is comprised of four divisions: SHS Preschool and Kindergarten, SHS Lower and Middle Schools for grades one through eight, and Sacred Heart Preparatory for grades nine through twelve.

Summary of Position

The Lower/Middle School is seeking an experienced, passionate and highly-skilled middle school social studies teacher.
Required qualifications include at least five years’ teaching at an elementary or middle school, an MA degree in a related field and a credential. Experience teaching elementary or middle school social studies is preferred.

Previous experience at an independent school and in implementation of curriculum initiatives is highly desirable.
Online videos of teaching demonstrations a plus! Final candidates need to be prepared for an in-person teaching demonstration to the interview team.
