Brief Posting Description
Leads and directs a technical team of
Java/JEE developers and leads; ensures
the effective
delivery of Technology changes through
co-ordination and management of people
and other resources within their
technology domain.
Detailed Description
Directs the team to ensure delivery of all
activities and services to time, cost
and quality
Owns standards, processes, procedures,
tools and KPIs for technology
domain
Manages risks and issues, escalations
and exceptions
Interprets complex data and makes
appropriate recommendations
Works with other Technology functional
areas to refine technical strategy and
ensure plans are in line with the
operational and strategic requirements
Provides technical leadership in projects
and represents Technology in
cross-functional teams
Inputs into the overall Technology
strategy, acting as the lead / SME for their
technology domain
Job Requirements
Strong technical individual who is able to
manage teams. Preferably from a
development background.
Preferably previous experience in a
development role.
Good understanding of SOA (Service
Orientated Architecture) and/or web
services.
A breadth of technical knowledge and an
understanding of the market and
economic context
Proven ability to quickly extract the
defining characteristics of a new
technology
Awareness of operational, organisational
and people challenges as well as
technology
Proven experience of managing technical
projects and teams
Detailed knowledge of core business and
technical processes
Additional Details
Experience in managing development
activities working on large projects being
delivered to tight timescales.
Strong technical experience in Java/JEE
