Immediate 10+ month opportunity for a Middleware Engineer/ Jboss and LINUX Administrator
The Systems Administrator/ Middleware/Linux Engineer will be an individual contributor with proven breadth and depth of technical expertise in managing middleware stacks and enterprise applications and product solutions. This individual will directly interface with various enterprise groups and be responsible for their middleware/OS platforms running intranet/internet applications. This individual will ideally have worked in a "DevOps" role and be comfortable with software development processes and technologies.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsible for installing, configuring and managing a large number of clustered JBoss/Apache server farms on RHEL/CentOS platforms.
Interface with various enterprise development groups to identify requirements, generate container deployment configurations and support production releases
Operational support for deployed applications, diagnosis and troubleshooting of production issues, root cause analysis Identify performance bottlenecks and tune systems as necessary
Assist Software Configuration Management teams in build processes
Participate in deployment, administration and support of enterprise solutions for source control, program management, bug tracking, wikis etc. Linux systems administration and scripting as needed Assist with development work using LAMP and/or Java/JEE technologies as needed.
Accountable for high levels of personal operating efficiency on assigned tasks and problems Prepare and maintain detailed design and operational documentation for production systems.
Take ownership of projects and research technologies needed to implement new initiatives Participates in analyzing and recommending new technologies, products, and innovations that would improve systems and the support of those systems.
Required Skills:
**Candidates must be US Citizens or Greencard Holders willing /able to work on our W2** Strong experience in JBoss Enterprise Application Server configuration, administration and management
Experience installing, configuring and supporting a clustered JBoss environment on Red Hat Enterprise Linux platforms
Strong working experience with various flavors of Linux, understanding of Linux systems administration (FC, CentOS, RHEL).
Experience in optimization and tuning various middleware components, understanding of how the Linux kernel will react to memory tuning. Experience in LAMP stack, experience in scripting (Bash, Perl, PHP).
Experience in Apache web server administration, configurations and load balancing setups. Experience managing enterprise software like Jira, Confluence, Subversion etc.
Experience interfacing and co-coordinating with multiple enterprise groups on projects.
Experience evaluating system requirements (i.e. CPU, Memory, storage, etc.) to optimally support load
Desired:
Minor/Major in engineering or computer science or equivalent experience.
Experience with JBoss Operations Network Experience with JEE technologies and development processes. Experience with JEE application deployments and configurations.
Some experience in application/web services development using Java, PHP/Perl.
