Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled and collaborative team player to join the Middleware team in an Operations role supporting the Global Message Hub portfolio of services.
Activities
- Provide production support to the business in diagnosing problems with inbound and outbound messages on the middleware platform.
- Proactively monitor the system for errors or bad business data and resolve as appropriate.
- Provide support for ongoing migrations and new flow deployments.
- Ensure that any issues that may impact payment flows are dealt with, or escalated in a timely manner
- Provide feedback to the development team as to requirements or enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with any internal and external regulatory requirements.
Key Deliverables
- The Middleware Operations Engineer should have the ability to work effectively in a regionally dispersed team.
- Attention to detail, the ability to work with customers of all levels, good communication skills and the ability to drive and take the initiative in a fast changing environment.
Scope of Role
- The position holder is responsible for the daily operation of the Middleware infrastructure and the implementation of related projects in the region. The position reports to the Regional Middleware Operations manager.
1) People Management
- Allocate operational support resources and provide task management
2) Financial Management
- Provide vendor management on procurement and maintenance related matters.
Essential Experience
- Tibco SOA (EMS, Hawk) including installation, troubleshooting and upgrade.
- XML/XSLT message transformation.
- Ability to write SQL queries (Oracle)
- Unix
- Ability to communicate at all levels.
- Solid understanding of change control procedures and incident reporting methodologies.
- L1/L2/L3 Application Support
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills
Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Information Technology related disciplines with at least 4 years post graduation experience in the system engineering field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered if the combination will result in comparable knowledge and abilities
Technical Competence
- Minimum 4 years experience in IT or related field
- Minimum 2 years experience of UNIX/Linux with strong scripting experience (Unix Shell/ Perl)
- Minimum 2 years experience in Production Operations supporting Middleware products
- Exposure to diverse technical configurations, technologies, and processing environments with experience in troubleshooting, testing, planning and configuring relevant technologies.
