Production Support - Finance
I have an exciting opportunity to join a leader in financial services. The person will supports all aspects of the operations department and is responsible for the Integrity of their live environment.
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
· Monitoring Administration (HP Openview tool used to monitor)
· Scheduling Administration (SMA Opcon Scheduling tool)
· Supervised Solution implementation (converting Manual tasks into automated processes and Project Tasks)
· File Transfer Administration (Setup and Troubleshoot all FTP and Connect Direct issues)
· Production and Maintenance of Generic and Bespoke Automation scripts (Windows Unix Shell Scripting).
· High Level problem solving (broad technical ability across multiple disciplines to troubleshoot issues)
· Troubleshooting live systems following established processes and incident management protocols.
· Producing documentation for new product/service/code implementations.
· Maintain Operational documentation, updating where necessary.
· Conversion of new Clients following established processes.
· On Call Duties as part of a Rota to provide 2nd Line support to Shift Operators.
· Security Administration; manage access to the department, password resets, NTFS security and share permissions.
· Liaise with external Vendors for connectivity setups and troubleshooting.
· Backup and Restore of data with offsite storage management and Archiving practice.
· Manage and implement user request workload through BMC Remedy Call based system.
· EMC storage platform operational support including disk allocation, capacity management, system maintenance, and SRDF admin.
· Minimal Shift Senior/Operator cover (for last minute absence not holiday cover).
· Any other pertinent responsibilities
QualificationsQualifications
Technical Knowledge
Please detail the technical knowledge required to operate effectively within this role.
· An excellent understanding of our daily procedures performed by operators.
· Industry Knowledge
· Broad understanding of Windows Servers, Virtualisation, Clusters, Networking, and SQL
· Windows/Unix Shell Scripting
· FTP Protocols (FTP, SFTP, FTPS)
· Connect Direct troubleshooting and process development
Ideally
A candidate with a First degree in a Computer Science discipline, this can include courses like Computing and Information Systems as these have a strong development background.
