Midstream Business Performance Manager
The primary functions of the role are to provide insight into performance of Midstream, provide key decision support analysis, co-ordinate future plans and forecast and facilitate clear communication of financial performance to both the Midstream and the Centrica Energy Leadership teams.
The Role:
- Developing a detailed understanding of the Midstream asset portfolio, its optionality and strategies deployed to maximise benefit
- Responsible for directing all aspects of the performance management agenda for Midstream including:
- Provision of high quality analytical insight into business performance and decisions through analysis of results and future plans and identify profit opportunities
- Analysis and interpretation of performance indicator metrics to evaluation the quality of ongoing performance
- Monitoring Midstream’s performance against Group indicators e.g. EP, ROCE, AIS
- Monitoring trader performance against the requirements of the Trader Bonus Scheme (TBS)
- Supporting further development of the TBS principles to encompass refinements such as capital charging by book
- Accountable for provision of transparent and timely communication of business performance matters, including escalation of issues to ensure that key messages which underpin performance are clearly understood by all stakeholders
- Provide a point of contact for the front office teams to enable a better understanding of their reported performance
- Responsible for delivery of all aspects of financial planning and performance for Midstream. Co-ordinate and adapt the planning process, maintaining close business alignment to meet all Centrica Energy and Group requirements
- Ensure effective controls in place over completeness and consistency in all aspects of financial performance (PL, balance sheet and cash flow)
- Leverage risk reporting and risk metrics to supplement understanding of business performance and influence decision making
- Engage and contribute to setting business strategy and objectives. Be cognisant of implications of proposals and changes to business strategy for Centrica Energy and Centrica Group.
The BPM will work closely with the BD Finance Manager to provide thought leadership in enhancement, adaptation and development of reporting to accommodate changing priorities and strategies.
The Person:
- Educated to degree level, with a recognised accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CFA). Minimum 5 years PQE
- Bright, articulate and keen to learn
- Experience of a Midstream or FS environment expressly preferred
- IT literate – excellent Excel and Powerpoint skills essential; modelling background preferred
- Personable and credible - able to build relationships with a range of internal partners from both financial and non-financial backgrounds
- Experience of analysing complex data, extracting key messages and presenting to non-financial audiences
- Experience of applying financial techniques in a commercial environment
- Organised, with demonstrable experience of managing improvement
- Strong technical finance skills, with ability to swiftly review and analyse data for accuracy and robustness
