MILL OPERATORS NEEDED IN SOUTH HOLLAND, IL
This is an entry level position. During the first two plus years in the position, the individual will learn the basic operating procedures and maintenance procedures of the horizontal processing mills used for the manufacture of architectural and industrial colorants. Included in the training will be cleaning of mills and tanks, flipping of mills, cleaning of hoses and disassembly and re assembly of valves, pumps and hoses. In addition general housekeeping procedures and safety policies will be part of the daily training routine. 1. Follows Instructions on the proper procedures to complete Mill Monitoring Log 2. Follows Instructions on the proper procedures to complete Mill Displacement Log 3. Follows Instructions on the proper procedures to complete Media In-Between Batch Log 4. Follows Instructions on the proper procedures to complete Mill Maintenance Log 5. Follows Instructions on the proper procedures to complete Batch Tracking Log 6. Trained on the start up and operating procedures of the various mills used in the assigned plant. 7. Trained in reading and interpret batch cards. 8. Trained in proper procedures to add or remove media used in mills according to batch card instructions 1. Under the direction of a senior operator manually cleans mill and all component parts related to breakdown and assembly. 2. Assists a senior operator in starting assigned batch on mill, monitor and record designated parameters. 3. Assists senior processors troubleshoot issues/problems with horizontal mill if/when necessary. 4. After proper training on tank cleaning procedures will be assigned to clean and select appropriate tanks to batch size. 5. Maintaining cleanliness of assigned areas. 6. Instructed on proper procedured to complete and maintain mill log sheets for individual batches. 7. Perform mill displacement and media check. 8. Operate high-speed mixers for the purpose of mixing batches. 9. Follow all E,HS regulations and guidelines, including active participation in SMART and other safety programs. 10. Must show ability to read and understand written processing instructions for various products.
