Maintenance Superintendent Mine Mobile Equipment

The Design Group Mining Division in collaboration with our client, a Global Leader in the Energy sector, is looking for an experienced Maintenance Superintendent for their Mining operationReporting to the Maintenance Vice President, you will be responsible for the development, operation and strategic direction of the Mobile Maintenance department.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

         Strong focus on managing safety and leading safety initiatives to ensure no one gets hurt.

         Provide strategic input to the Maintenance Manager on the development and potential opportunities to achieve world class maintenance performance.

         Responsible for the efficient maintenance management of the mine equipment fleet to maximize overall availability and reliability. Accountable for electric and hydraulic shovel fleet, heavy haulers, mine support equipment and operation of maintenance shops, wash bay facilities, warm up shed and other associated facilities.

        Build the mine maintenance program, including equipment strategies, task lists, procedures, spare parts, organizational design, and establishing work standards.

      Establish strategic direction for development of the mine maintenance department with heavy emphasis on supervisory and wage recruiting, competency assurance training programs and leveraging mine equipment manufacturers for general support.

          Develop and steward the annual maintenance budget. Direct the maintenance portion of the Asset Level Business Plan development for establishing the long term maintenance plan and associated budgets.

          Sponsor continuous improvement processes including maintenance work execution efficiencies, root cause failure analysis, and reliability program improvement.

        Interface and liaison with Operations, Planning, Engineering and Mine Technical organizations as required.

 

Key Qualifications:

 

          Minimum of 15 years related industry experience. A thorough knowledge of PBP (Production Best Practices) Operations and Maintenance Element, SHE, OIMS, CMMS and other internal business processes are critical.

          Related heavy mining equipment experience and knowledge of best in class maintenance practices and philosophies.

          Extensive supervisory / management experience required.

          Good leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to build good, respectful working relationships.

          Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

          Strong commitment to continuous improvement and safe operations.

          Ability to work future Fly In / Fly Out roster from either Calgary or Edmonton
