Mining Project Finance – Mining Engineer required recruitment
Our client is a large financial organisation that has been and continues to be a major supporter of the Australian mining business. The firm is well know for its commitment to Project and Structured finance and has continued to fund large projects while other market participants have withdrawn, consequently it is well known and held in high esteem.
An opportunity has arisen for a person with ten or more years worth of mining engineering experience to join the Project Finance team as a technical expert, you will be responsible for assessing and interpreting technical mining data from projects that the firm wishes to become involved with and provide financial solutions in the non-recourse market for these large scale mining projects.
Your input will play a crucial role in the decisions that are made on whether projects will recieve funding and how this will be organised and structured. You will be part of a very experienced team of financers who will help you to develop in to a natural resources banker. In time you will also have the opportunity to get involved in infrastructure deals.
To be a strong candidate for this role you must be able to offer the following:
- Strong track record as a mining engineer going back ten years or more, your experience must be mainly "hands on" site based. Time spent in operations, pit supervision, mine planning, pit optimisation, design and scheduling would be well received. Site experience should be as broad as possible allowing a person to have a good overview of how a mine is performing.
- Project evaluation experience perhaps as a consultant or through working in a project or business development team
- Good report writing skills and numeracy
- Additional qualifications such as an MBA or finance related studies would be very well regarded
- First class communication skills both spoken and written.
