MIS Analyst Developer recruitment
A position has arisen for an experienced developer to join the MIS/Analytics Technology team, which is part of the Global Markets Financing and Futures Technology group.
The global group is responsible for delivering front-office and middle-office applications for Securities Lending, Yield Enhancement, Asset Optimisation and Collateral Management trading and Sales desks. The global group currently comprises of around +200 analysts, developers and testers.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be working on a variety of MIS/Analytics initiatives around Global Client Profitability and other GMFF technology related projects. This work will involve all aspects of the development life-cycle acting in a senior capacity. They will also be expected to contribute to the strategic MIS roadmap by helping to improve the overall MIS architecture.
The candidate will be expected to be comfortable talking to traders as well as colleagues in all areas of Technology. The ideal will have a demonstrable track record as a Developer in a Financial Services firm.
Requirements
Essential Skills Experience:
- In depth experience of working in Equities within an Investment Bank. The outstanding candidate will have worked in Equity Finance (Prime Brokerage/Sec Lending/Equity Swaps). Candidates with client profitability or financial project experience will have a distinct advantage.
- Excellent experience in SQL Server and other RDBMS. They will have exceptional knowledge of TRANSACT-SQL with experience in developing stored procedures, views and building/maintaining tables. They will also possess good architecture/data modelling experience having created strategic solutions.
- The right candidate will have an outstanding knowledge of data warehousing concepts - understanding the key components of data warehouse design and implementation. They will have practical experience of coding solutions through use of Informatica and Transact SQL.
- In depth experience in Business Objects XI R3 or above, particularly in terms of ‘Universe’ and report design. The successful candidate will have developed advanced reporting solutions using Web Intelligence. They should understand the administrative/environment management aspects of BO.
- Gathering and understanding data requirements and experience of producing functional specifications, test plans and able to perform system testing.
- The successful applicants will exercise due diligence when developing solutions through the thorough testing and optimisation of code. They must be able to spot and correct performance issues.
- They must have worked on significant data warehouse implementations.
- Able to work individually and as part of global technology team. Focused on delivery.
- Comfortable across all stages of the development lifecycle and able to communicate across all levels within trading, middle office and technology.
- Quick learner and self-starter. Able to “hit the ground running”.
