Mission Planning Hardware Acq Spec. Job in Bedford 01730, Massachusetts US

PRIMARY FUNCTION(S)
Provide analytic and acquisition support to ACC/A8IM for the procurement of mission planning hardware and services.  Provide support for pre-contract award, post-contract award, and general acquisition activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
: Develops/reviews acquisition documentation, conducts market research, oversees hardware evaluations, reviews bid proposals, and coordinates hardware procurements
   o Support development/review of Requests for Information (RFIs), Request for Proposals (RFPs) and other procurement related documents utilized during the acquisition of Mission Planning Systems hardware, services and support
   o Support market research to stay abreast of the latest commercial technology for solutions to meet user requirements
   o Support hardware evaluations for hardware solutions being bid by vendors
   o Support review of bid proposals and make recommendations as appropriate to the government for contract award
   o Support initial testing of hardware submissions to Hill AFB or Langley AFB for evaluation
: Ensures items are delivered in accordance with awarded delivery order, ensures continued viability of procured hardware, tracks receipt of hardware items, and ensures technical orders are produced and delivered with all systems
   o Assess items delivered in accordance with awarded delivery order are consistent to contract specifications and support first-article and pre-shipment inspections to verify compliance
   o Support government review of continued viability of procured hardware through manufacture and extended warrantees and resolve all warrantee issues as required
   o Support the government in tracking receipt of procured hardware items and interface/coordinate with the item manager at the Mission Planning Systems Support Facility to ensure the accountability of all assets
   o Review all technical order documentation produced to ensure it's complete and delivered with each fielded system
   o Support government site visits as required to evaluate the effectiveness of fielded hardware
: Projects hardware requirements through the FYDP, provides analysis and metrics data on hardware trends, tracks obligations and expenditures of funds, tracks current year and out year funding for budgeting purposes, and supports the Planning Programming, Budgeting, and Execution process as required
   o Provide hardware projections through the FYDP based on platform requirements
   o Provide analysis and metrics data on hardware trends to support acquisition reporting for Air Staff and MAJCOM Planning Programming, Budgeting, and Execution activities
   o Provide analysis and metrics data on hardware trends to support acquisition reporting for Air Staff and MAJCOM Planning Programming, Budgeting, and Execution activities
   o Prepare position papers and briefings on request

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
: Seven (7) years experience
   o Experience in requirements analysis and/or acquisition supporting Combat Air Forces platforms
   o Experience in hardware requirements analysis and/or acquisition for Combat Air Forces platforms
: Bachelor's Degree in computer technology or related field or an Associate's plus an additional four (4) yrs relevant experience
: Understanding of DoD, USAF, AFMC, and ESC regulations, policies, and procedures
: Experience in DoD programs of similar scope
: Excellent proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)
: Secret Security Clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
: Ten (10) years of experience
   o Experience in requirements analysis and/or acquisition supporting Combat Air Forces platforms
   o Experience in hardware requirements analysis and/or acquisition for Combat Air Forces platforms
: Prior Mission Planning experience

WORKING LOCATIONS ADDITIONAL INFO
: Work location is Langley AFB, Virginia
: Periodic travel in support of program reviews, meetings, and conferences is required; travel up to 10% is expected
