Deluxe Digital Studios (DDS) is a leading supplier of DVD, Blu-ray, BD Live, and digital distribution post production services, including subtitling and localization, theatrical dubbing services, video compression, encoding, authoring, menu design, bonus content production, audio, and network services. We currently have an opening for an Mobile Software Developer (Apple iOS). This position is located in Burbank, California.
Position Overview
The Mobile Software Developer will be responsible for developing apps for Apple’s iOS platforms. Individual will also be required to design and develop around third-party SDKs, content security solutions and interface with server APIs.
Primary Responsibilities
· Proactively keep abreast of industry developments, skills and technologies and share information, ideas and best practice with other team members.
· Architecture and development of Deluxe’s core app platform.
· Provide feedback and advice to new and existing system designs, and perform peer code reviews.
· Maintenance of source code using source control software.
· Conducts unit testing, and works with internal user groups to coordinate/assist in user testing procedures. Assists in software deployment and related trouble-shooting.
· Documentation for architecture, system design and unit testing.
· Contribute to corporate and/or departmental documentation, procedures, and/or presentations.
· Prepare schedules, timelines, and milestones.
· Carry out difficult development assignments with general direction.
· Mentor other software engineers and programmers.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, experience, and skill-set:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field of study preferred or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years work experience in the areas of designing and implementing apps for iOS platform.
- Mastery of Objective C programming techniques and architectures.
- General experience with video file and codec formats.
- Familiarity with SVN.
- Ability to communicate effectively, in both oral and written form, to upper level management and peer engineers. Must also be able to communicate internally and externally to customers with various backgrounds, including technical staff and marketing personnel.
- Must learn and process information quickly.
- Must be able to effectively document all processes, designs and data flows.
- Ability to provide technical leadership and support to management, peers, developers, and third parties.
- Solid troubleshooting, problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to reach innovative options quickly.
- Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and/or weekends to meet project deadlines.
