Job Purpose:
Maintains Thermo King and Carrier transport refrigeration equipment by installing and maintaining heating, refrigeration, and auxiliary power equipment; downloads on-board computers for food safety requirments.
Duties:
* Organizes work by studying work orders, diagrams, specifications, drawings, schematics, repair orders and gathering required materials to complete effective repairs.
* Establishes environmental systems by mounting, installing, fabricating, or connecting compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, expansion and discharge valves, motors, temperature and humidity controls, fans, control panels, switches, fuses, filters, gauges, ducts, piping, tubing, and related components; completes power connections.
* Tests and repairs refrigeration systems by operating the systems; identifying malfunctions; repairing or replacing sealants, parts, and components.
* Keeps tools and equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance.
* Documents actions by completing equipment inspection records and repair orders.
* Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations and company work rules and policies.
* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
* Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
Knowledge of Refrigeration Maintenance, Basic Safety, Documentation Skills, Conceptual Skills, Power Tools, Attention to Detail, Dependability, Lifting, Job Knowledge, Productivity, Gas and Arc Welding Experience, Class A CDL Acceptable But Not Necessary, Electrical and Refrigeration Diagnosing Skills Mandatory, Able to Work with Minimal Supervision, Able to Troubleshoot electrical, refrigeration and heating systems without Supervision, Able to Perform All Soldering Requirements Associated With Transport Refrigeration Systems.
