UI / UX Developer - London - from £25k to £55k

Purpose of the Job

We're looking for a versatile UI expert, capable of designing interfaces and translating them into front-end, standards-friendly code.​ If you're a talented individual that loves UI, we have an opportunity for you.

Knowledge, Skill and Experience

* Advanced skills in HTML, XHTML, and CSS with the ability to hand-code
* An instinct for intuitive UI and information architecture
* Up-to-date knowledge of HTML5, and what you can implement of it right now
* In-depth understanding of CSS and knowledge of CSS3 and cross-browser compatibility
* In-depth understanding of Javascript and experience with Jquery or similar libraries
* Graceful degradation
* Progressive enhancement
* Accessibility (they should understand WAI and WCAG)
* Semantic HTML layout
* RESTful architectures
* Knowledge of some object-oriented programming languages or application frameworks such as Java, JSP, .Net, PHP is recommended.
* Experience developing for modern browsers and degrading sites gracefully for older ones
* Ideally 5+ years of experience designing UI solutions for web applications preferred
* Experience with consumer UI Design for mobile applications
- experience with design for iPhone, BlackBerry, and/or Android platforms
- passion for what makes a great User Experience
- knowledge of UX trends in both desktop and mobile applications

Key Responsibilities

* Design user friendly sites in both web and mobile (web more important than mobile).
* Professional User Interface Designer
Technical ability in CSS3 . HTML5.
* Create functional prototypes that demonstrate advanced UI behaviours and effects.
* High-level UX conception, graphic and web design, brand development, copywriting and front-end development using advanced web standards including HTML5 and CSS3.
* Design and develop rich user interfaces and consistent user experiences
* Collaborate with project teams to create interfaces based on user feedback and best practices
* Create static and dynamic prototypes that demonstrate how the application looks and flows.
* Construct pages that are standards compliant, universally accessible, and cross-browser compatible.

This position will give you the opportunity to sculpt across a wide variety of interactive media working from the ground up working with developers and product innovators.

We'll need you to demonstrate enthusiasm for solving problems creatively and building great websites and mobile interfaces to them with an astute attention to detail. Candidates will show dedication towards mastering their craft, executing great design and user experience while using the latest in front-end web technologies and techniques.
