Mobilisation Support Superintendent Job in Chelmsford, Southern UK

Experienced Mobilisation Support Superintendent is required by global client to support the mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment on company owned and chartered vessels/ships.

To support the modifications as required too company owned and chartered vessels. 

To carry out the duties of Ship Superintendent for designated vessel(s). To ensure that designated vessel(s) are managed safely and efficiently in accordance with Flag State, Class Rules and IMO Resolutions, together with company policies and procedures, which incorporate ISO 9000:2000 (Quality), ISO 14001:2004 (Environment), ISM (International Safety Management) and Health Safety  systems.

 

Key deliverables:

Produce specification for mobilisations and modifications to vessels with assistance from Naval Architects and other internal and external resources as required as well as conduct planning, class approval and delivery of mobilisations of equipment placed onboard nominated vessels or modifications of nominated vessels, supporting the Fleet Technical Manager to deliver a sound, safe and fully operational spread. This will include involvement in HAZID/HAZOP studies and supporting the handover process from the Operational Support Team to the vessels designated Superintendent.

Qualifications/Skills/Experience

Required

Class 2 Certificate of Competency (Engine)

Previous experience as a Ship Superintendent, Mobilisation Engineer or other appropriate shore experience within the marine sector

Familiarity with IMO and Flag State legislation as well as Classification Society rules

Ideal

Class 1 Certificate of Competency (Engine)

Experience of cable ships

ISO/ISM Auditor accreditation.

Budget familiarity.

An ability to work enthusiastically both independently and as part of a team.

Familiarity with Amos Marsoft maintenance databases.

Electrical/Electronic qualification.

Ability to travel internationally regularly, sometimes at short notice
