Our Illinois plant seeks skilled and experienced Process Technicians, with strong plastics injection molding backgrounds, to performs a variety of technical support functions in the work cell in the areas of set up, repair, preventive maintenance, processing and automation.  Assists manufacturing in production support activities as required to produce quality parts.  These are regular, full-time positions.  However, some part-time or weekend-only positions may also become available. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Some essential responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:

 

·         Maintain work safety in the area, including housekeeping, 5S, lockout/tag out, machine guarding, etc.

·         Perform mold set ups as required.

·         Follow approved Process Control Sheets and make recommendations for changes if required to the Shift Supervisor for approval, maintaining all required documents.

·         Troubleshoot molding, automation, and tooling equipment as required following required work instructions.

·         Assist other technicians and maintenance personnel in the repair of equipment when required to support customer demands.

·         Recommend, document, and report required improvements for the above.

·         Ensure and communicate proper information transfers between shifts with the appropriate personnel.

·         Participate in continuous improvement activities and recommend improvements through related team meetings.

·         Measure and visually inspect product for surface and dimensional defects using required gauges and other equipment as required to perform necessary inspection, including but not limited to, start up inspections and in process inspections.

·         Train operators in motion sequence and quality requirements.

·         Review Quality Alerts with operators and verify that the operators understand the quality requirements.

·         Review IDMR’s and complete the required sections on the form.

·         Various other miscellaneous duties as required.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·         Between 4 to 5 years of trade school, vocational education, work experience, or apprenticeship with hands-on experience in a plastic injection molding environment setting up high tolerance molds

·         Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, specifications, computer generated reports, and use measuring instruments and hand/power tools

·         Working knowledge of TS16949 quality system, including control of non-conforming product and process control.

·         Basic metrology, Lock out/Tag out, and forklift training

·         Computer literate with Microsoft Office Suite, or equivalent software.
