Fidelity Asset Management

Fidelity has one of the world’s leading asset management businesses, offering an expansive array of global research and investment capabilities for individual and institutional investors. The business is led by Ron O’Hanley and is divided into separate divisions/groups:

• Fidelity’s Fixed Income Department is one of the country’s leading fixed income managers, with over $700 billion in fixed-income assets. Both the Bond and Money market business are led by Charlie Morrison, President of Fixed Income.

• Fidelity Management Research Company (FMR Co.) is one of the country’s leading Equity managers, with over $700 billion in Equity mutual fund assets – the equity and high income retail mutual fund business led by Jacques Perold, President of FMR Co.

• Pyramis Global Advisors (PGA) - the institutional investment and distribution function of Fidelity Asset Management focusing on building and managing an institutional client base. The CEO and President of PGA is Mike Jones. 

• Fidelity’s Global Asset Allocation team (GAA) is responsible for designing and managing more than $350 billion of multi-asset investment strategies and solutions.  GAA serves a diverse range of institutional and individual clients, delivering investment expertise across a spectrum of mutual funds, institutional vehicles, customized portfolios, and managed accounts.  In addition, GAA provides quantitative research, methodology and consulting in support of Fidelity’s advice and guidance solutions.  Derek Young is the President of GAA.

Fixed Income Team

Fidelity’s Fixed Income Department is one of the country’s leading fixed income managers, with over $700 billion in fixed-income assets managed by a staff of more than 120 investment professionals.  The Money Market Group, a major subdivision within the Fixed Income Department, is responsible for managing all of Fidelity’s money market funds.  The Money Market Group conducts fundamental research on domestic and international debt issuers, and it augments this research with macroeconomic and quantitative analysis to construct portfolios that protect shareholder principal, provide ample liquidity, and produce returns consistent with short-term market rates.  The Money Market Group is headquartered in Merrimack, New Hampshire and is expanding its presence in Fidelity’s London office.

Role

As Fidelity grows internationally, we are focused on a number of priorities. One major initiative includes launching four money market funds out of our London office; two government funds and two prime funds.  We are seeking a Trader to join the Money Market Group in London. This individual will be responsible for trading these new funds. This individual will report to the Chief Investment Officer for Fixed Income in London. Traders are highly valued core members of the investment teams (which include portfolio managers and research analysts) and actively participate with portfolio managers and research analysts in strategy sessions that address trends and asset allocation.  The successful candidate will also be expected to build close working relationships with their peers in the US.

Requirements

Education

•       Bachelors’ degree is required with a solid academic record.

Experience

•       Minimum of 3 years’ experience trading in Europe.

•       The ability to work on a team and influence investment process with portfolio management and research

•       The ability to work in a small office setting and build and maintain connectivity with the US team
