The Monitoring Coordinator performs a broad cross-section of technical and administrative activities requiring oversight, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, recording and organizing the activities of third party river sediment field sampling and coring contractors, third party water quality and quality of life monitoring contractors, the processing of field samples, and the independent laboratory analysis of samples.. The Monitoring Coordinator reports to the Certification Unit (CU) Acceptance Manager or the Deputy River Operations Manager. (Parsons will only have a CU Manager if it wins the CU Proposal) JOB DESCRIPTION Coordinates with the Certification Unit Acceptance team and manager on the dates/times needed for the requirement for sampling, coring and laboratory results. Provides oversight of, monitors and coordinates with third party contractors and laboratories to assure schedules are maintained and met. Addresses schedule items and issues to assure that Certification Unit Acceptance team data needs are met on or before the scheduled time required. Reviews daily monitoring, sampling and laboratory reports. Identifies any deficiencies in the monitoring and sampling programs and assures that corrective action is implemented. Assists in maintaining project files and recording information in project logs. Provides engineering or scientific support related to monitoring activities and data to the Certification Unit Manager in the development of dredge prisms, backfill/cap plans and certification unit acceptance documentation. Uses personal computers and other electronic means to input project information into quantity verification and schedule systems to analyze and produce management informational reports. Interprets maps, environmental monitoring, land and hydrographic survey data and uses the information in coordinating and providing oversight of monitoring and laboratory activities. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Since work will occur 24 hours/day, shift work including nights should be expected. Twelve or thirteen hour shifts may be required. Qualifications JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in an engineering, technology, science or construction-related field. Five years experience in related engineering, environmental remediation or construction activities. Additional Requirements: Ability to read, interpret, verify, and document conformance to the contract documents. Ability to perform quantity take-offs and measure quantities from contract documents, surveys and field data. Ability to interact with, manage and provide oversight of multiple simultaneous activities. Effective oral and written communication skills. Computer literacy with MS Office software, printers and plotters. Ability to obtain OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification.
