SUMMARY: This position is within Travelers¿ IT Operations Center and provides production support for monitoring and alerting using HP and BMC technologies. The incumbent will be accountable for day-to-day production support of HP and BMC monitoring and alerting technologies, plus collaboration with IT Operations Center personnel responsible for monitoring and alerting fulfillment activities. The role is essential to assuring reliability, availability and serviceability of the infrastructure and critical, externally facing applications. EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS: ¿ Infrastructure and application monitoring tools knowledge and experience with HP SiteScope and BMC Patrol/ProactiveNet experience preferred ¿ Incident/Problem management skills and experience o Ability to investigate, analyze and resolve Incidents/Problems o Working with HPSM and/or REMEDY Change, Problem and Incident tickets ¿ UNIX, Linux, and WINDOWS operating system familiarity. Ability to log on and execute basic and more complex commands. Knowledge of remote server connectivity and usage. ¿ Customer support experience o Contact and negotiation o Gathering and analyzing specifications ¿ Ability to work independently ¿ Ability to understand and employ written technical procedures ¿ Scripting experience (such as Perl ) is a plus MAJOR COMPETENCIES: Analytical Thinking Initiative/Motivation/Commitment Driving for Results Teamwork and Collaboration Strong communication, both verbal and written Flexibility Organizational Skills Travelers is an equal opportunity employer.
