Monitoring Surveillance and Control Analyst

An interesting opportunity as arisen at a London based Investment Bank for a Monitoring Surveillance and Control Analyst
The Monitoring Surveillance and Control team require a subject matter expert to develop alert logic for market abuse monitoring of fixed income activities, assisting with building alerts, sourcing data, managing data quality and processing, alert development, testing and deployment.

Description of team
The Trade Surveillance Team is within the Monitoring Oversight team within Compliance and Operational Risk Control they provide independent oversight of the Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risks (so called 'consequential' risks) within the firm. This responsibility includes ensuring the necessary risk frameworks are appropriately designed and operating effectively across the full operational risk taxonomy, pro-actively identifying and analysing risk, and providing constructive challenge to achieve an appropriate balance between risk and return.

Responsibilities
Design the logic for a comprehensive suite of relevant rates and credit alerts
Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure alerts are appropriate and relevant to the risks presented
Coordination of data the gathering from across the bank's divisions and regions where required.
Collaboration with the IT team to develop and test the alert rules and determine design and operating effectiveness
Confirm checks in place to ensure completeness and accuracy of the data sources to ensure they are fit for purpose.

Requirements
Substantial relevant work experience at a financial services company or comparable experience working as an advisor for a financial services company.
An understanding of Investment Banking, Asset Management, and Wealth Management experience and knowledge preferred.
Strong problem solving skills with an analytical and curious mind set fit for data analysis with an awareness of data quality and integrity issues.
Compliance or regulatory experience or other related experience such as operational risk, risk management, audit, examination, or similar control-related experience.
Display strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership ability across all levels coupled with effective problem solving, conceptual thinking, quantitative and analytical skills.
