Position Description:
The Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Financial Control Group is currently looking for a Controller with 5-10 years of experience to support the Private Banking Group. The candidate will gain the opportunity to be a part of a team that is controlling a rapidly growing business. Product mix includes mortgages, Lending Products (term loans, revolvers, letters of credit), Bank Deposit program and the Global Currency product. The candidate will be exposed to Held for sale, Available for sale, Held for Investment and mark to market accounting. The role will include daily interaction with the trading desks, operations and regulatory reporting group. Key functions / responsibilities are below:

Responsibilities:

• Preparation and oversight of daily P/L for the products noted above
• Responsible for the creation of new reporting processes and controls as new products are launched
• Responsible for bank reporting requirements including FR-Y9, FR-Y8 and Call Reports
• Preparation and review of the month-end close process (P/L, Balance Sheet, Expenses)
• Responsible for the preparation and review of various quarterly financial statement disclosures
• Responsible for daily/weekly regulatory reporting and analysis to the MS Bank Control group
• Coordinate internal and external audit requests
• Ad hoc analysis requests for the business unit

Skills Required:
Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• Must have relevant experience in product control
• Strong Accounting skills with detailed working knowledge of the General ledger
• Proven track record of good organizational skills, sound time management, and ability to prioritize and multitask
• Strong sense of teamwork
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access)

Skills Desired:
• Experience with Banking and Lending products a plus
• Experience with HFS, AFS and HFI accounting a plus
