Position Description:
The successful candidate will join a distributed team of high-caliber systems engineers working in a global Microsoft Windows platform engineering team. The team designs and engineers Morgan Stanley's Windows desktop, server, and virtualization infrastructure globally, including build and management systems covering over 100,000 desktops and 6,000 servers.

Skills Required:
• A minimum of three years systems management development experience in C++ (required), C# (optional) , PowerShell (optional)
• Experience in Distributed File System (e.g. AFS, NFS, CIFS, etc) and Windows kernel filter driver development (exposure to open source technologies very useful)
• Strong technical ability in solving low-level Windows problems, including software and OS debugging, post-mortem dump analysis, etc
• Good understanding of Windows operating system and infrastructure fundamentals
• Experience with source code control systems such as Perforce, and software issue tracking systems such as Jira
• Ability to write clear technical reference documentation and runbook documentation
• Understanding of/experience with SDLC methodology and software design patterns

Skills Desired:
• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified Systems Developer (MCSD)
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft .NET Framework
• Windows application/infrastructure code testing experience, including test plan creation and automated testing
• Basic knowledge of PC and server hardware technologies including server blades, thin clients and HPC workstations
• Knowledge of SAN, NAS, DFS
• Working knowledge of Clustering technologies such as Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS), Veritas Volume Manager (VxVM), Veritas Cluster Server (VCS)
• Experience working in an engineering or development capacity with one or more of the following Windows enterprise technologies;:
• Windows Server 2008, Active Directory
• Systems Center Configuration Manager
• Windows Deployment Services
• VMWare ESX, Microsoft Virtual Server/PC
• Microsoft App-V
• Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop or Microsoft SQL Server
