Position Description:
The RiskViewer platform provides real time risk and PL data across Morgan Stanley's equity derivatives franchise, covering the full range of equity products from vanilla options through to exotics and swaps. The front end is fed by a distributed architecture of multi-threaded server-side components and a compute farm for calculation of risk data. The software is developed by teams based in Hong Kong, Budapest, London, and New York.
We are looking for a senior developer to join the team in the Hong Kong office to deliver on a combination of strategic projects with global impact, together with shorter-term discretionary projects for Asia desks. The role is primarily focused on initiating product valuations, ensuring that models are valued properly and consistently. The team works in collaboration with desk strategists and traders and is key to allowing the trading desks to realize new business opportunities.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record as a senior hands-on Java developer. They will be experienced with writing multi-threaded server-side code, with a strong emphasis on quality. They will be expected to initiate and own projects through the full software development life cycle.
Good communication skills are required for interaction with internal clients including trading, quants, and desk strategists, as well as colleagues in Budapest, London, and New York.
Skills Required:
4+ years Java experience in a server sided environment
Strong knowledge of object oriented design and distributed architecture.
Knowledge of Unix/Linux environment.
Good client facing and communication skills.
Skills Desired:
Knowledge of equity derivatives, especially exotics
Risk management system development experience.
JNI, C++ experience
Database/SQL experience
