Position Description:
Morgan Stanley is looking for talented Developers that have a true passion for technology and the raw intelligence to pick up new languages and platforms. This is a hands-on role that requires extensive coding / programming. As such, this person will build customized tools, infrastructure and environments for a large-scale, diverse (multi-platform/multi-language) agile software development lifecycle.

Skills Required:
- Highly technical and passionate about software development (e.g. codes for fun)
- Flexible and adaptable; quick to embrace new ideas, designs, platforms, languages
- Goal oriented, wants to get things done and make impact
- Ability to recognize priorities and make/ follow through on deadlines
- Good team player, willing to help out

Education:
- BS/MS, preferably in quantitative discipline (EE, CompSci, Math, Physics)

Experience:
- 8+ years of work experience but will consider exceptional candidates with 5-8 years

Examples of a strong candidate:
- Very proficient Java developer, with strength both in web application and server-side development (Struts/AJAX/Spring/Hibernate/SOAP)
- Has written Eclipse IDE plugins, Ant build macros; contributed to open source projects
- Very versed in Java performance issues, multithreaded JUnit test cases, and database design
- Promotes agile development, test driven development
- Interested in building tools and infrastructure for automated builds, tests, change management, and massive scale software distribution
- Hands-on development experience in multiple programming languages and platforms. Expert level knowledge of Java and Python or Perl would be a strong plus
- Previous experience as a tech lead/architect on a large-scale software development project is strongly preferred
