Mortgage Advisor/Loan Officer
Mortgage Advisors are responsible for representing PHH Mortgage in their local territory by developing and maintaining relationships primarily with Century 21, ERA and Coldwell Banker Brokers and Realtors. Mortgage Advisors are responsible for generating loan volume and closed loans through sales and marketing activities. They will maximize and enhance volume opportunities by promoting our competitive mortgage products, services, and programs in their assigned Real Estate Brokerages. Mortgage Advisors will originate mortgage loans using point of sales technology, or offer customers the choice of originating the loan via telephone or via the internet. Mortgage Advisors are responsible for spending at least 25% of their time outside their office(s) conducting lead generating and client service activities. These activities include, but are not limited to attending closings, open houses, client lunches, local business association meetings/trainings and/or other outside business generating activities. These activities are considered necessary in order to produce, increase and sustain an acceptable level of production to be successful in the Mortgage Advisor role. As always, business development activities must at all times be RESPA compliant and consistent with Company policy.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Two years experience originating mortgage loans is required. Experience in mortgage operations, processing or underwriting with a minimum of one year industry related sales experience may be substituted for mortgage originations. Working knowledge of FNMA, FHLC, FHA, and VA guidelines required. Proven sales/relationship building and customer service experience is required. Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the territory. Must have a valid driver's license. An income verification may be required as part of the hiring process. Mortgage Advisors are required to obtain a license through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) in order to originate mortgages at PHH. Additionally, candidates must be able to meet applicable state licensing requirements as required by PHH. Licensing requirements can include, but are not limited to satisfactory completion of background checks, fingerprinting, credit reports, testing and continuing education. This is in addition to what the company requires upon hire.
