Mortgage Consultant
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop business relationships as an outside sales professional in the real estate industry
- Attend marketing and community events that help brand themselves and the firm's brand
- Analyze client financing needs and recommend suitable loan structure based on client circumstances and loan policy.
- Accountable for individual loan production, loan profitability, loan structuring and compliance.
- Originate Retail Loan applications referred through business relationships that are cultivated.
- Manage the client and referral sources relationship with the bank.
- Perform analysis of requested loan terms to ensure conformity to all guidelines.
- Manage initial and ongoing communication with the client and referral source through the loan process.
- Work with processing team for documentation collection, outside vendor management, regulatory compliance. Complies with all federal, state laws, as well as internal policies and procedures.
- Analyze client needs for other financial services promoting bank products.
- Troubleshoot and resolves any issues that arise during the loan process.
- Limited long distance travel to Industry conferences, company Events and Branches. .
- Cultivate opportunities in the community to support community reinvestment and to reach the diverse population within the bank's assessment area.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Principles, practices, and procedures of residential mortgage lending.
- Fannie Mae, Federal regulatory requirements, State regulatory requirements, and correspondent lender guidelines to ensure a profitable loan is originated.
- Principles and methods for promoting and selling products or services.
- Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Outside sales and business development in community to market the firm.
- Using appropriate interpersonal styles to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels.
- Interacting with referral sources, Financial Advisors, clients and associates and third party professionals to the mortgage process.
- Basic public speaking skills.
- Providing a high level of customer service.
- Identifying the needs of customers through effective questioning and listening techniques.
- Build professional relationships.
- Learn regulatory, internal, and investor guidelines. Identify the needs of customers through effective questioning and listening techniques.
- Articulate reasons behind decisions.
- Clearly communicate regarding decisions, changes, and other relevant information.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Make recommendations for initiating changes to policies and procedures.
- Incite enthusiasm and influence, motivate and persuade others to achieve desired outcomes.
Required:
BA degree
Minimum of three (3) years experience as a Mortgage Loan Officer or a verifiable sales track record sufficient to meet firm's production goals.

Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
Licenses/Certifications: mortgage certification or broker's license preferred.
