The Mortgage Retail Sales Internship is an entry-level, paid, summer internship that provides hands-on experience within a retail branch structure. Mortgage Retail Sales interns will learn relationship management, marketing, and selling skills under the direction of Branch Sales Managers and/or Home Mortgage Consultants. You will experience how we build and/or maintain relationships with current and prospective customers that can lead to a stable and rewarding career. Specific internship training and responsibilities include: - Completion of a strategic project relevant to driving market share in the host region - Learning the specifics of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage products and programs All Mortgage Retail Sales Interns will undergo training at the outset of their internship to build and strengthen their core knowledge of the business in the following areas: - Credit fundamentals with specific attention to loan structuring, qualifying ratios, and sources of repayment - Sales fundamentals with specific attention to the customer and client interactions. - Marketing and sales activities with specific attention on strategies to drive Diverse Segments business - The loan process All Wells Fargo team members are required to complete a criminal background check before their start date. Wells Fargo will not sponsor visas for these positions, and will not hire individuals whose work eligibility is based on their F-1 or other student visa status. Candidates must be able to work in the United States on a permanent basis. This intern program does not provide relocation or student housing expenses. Minimum Qualifications: - Graduating or rising senior (graduating between January 2012 - June 2013) currently enrolled at least half time in a 4-year college program - At least 12 months of demonstrated work experience - Must be available to work a full-time schedule for all 10 weeks of internship beginning on June 4, 2012 (alternate start date for students in California is June 18, 2012) - Superb interpersonal skills - Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate ideas and strategies clearly, both verbally and in writing - Strong leadership and entrepreneurial potential with a demonstrated drive for results. - Solid analytical and mathematical abilities - Proficiency in handling multiple projects and deadlines - Able to work in a demanding and highly focused sales environment, independently and collaboratively in a team Preferred Skills: - At least 1 year of work experience encompassing direct customer service or sales experience. - Preference will be given to candidates whose field of study provides exposure to finance, marketing or sales, and/or knowledge and work experience directly related to sales.
